Is Free Nassau free?

Yes. It is free to play in your browser, with no download, no account and no payment.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. The game is built for phones as well as desktops. On a phone, hold it upright; in landscape the game asks you to turn it.

Can I play offline or install it?

After your first visit the game keeps its files in your browser, so it can load without a connection. You can also install it: use Add to Home Screen in iPhone Safari, or Install app in Chrome. The Hall of Captains needs a connection.

How does Renown work?

Renown = (1000 × acts cleared + 1500 for beating Hornigold + 40 × fights won + silver banked) × (1 + 0.2 × Notoriety). See the Hall of Captains.

Where are my saves?

In your own browser, on your device. Nothing is sent to us. Clearing site data deletes them. To move progress, use Copy save code and Load save code in the game’s Settings.

What appears on the leaderboard?

Only what you choose to sign: the name you type (3 to 16 letters, numbers, spaces, _ or -) and your run’s stats. Do not use your real name. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I remove a leaderboard entry?

Email [email protected] with the name, captain and date shown on the board.

How do I unlock Calico Jack Rackham?

Extract (sail home) or win a voyage once with any captain. See the Rackham guide.

Is it historically accurate?

The captains, ships and events are drawn from real history, and the wiki keeps real history and the game’s invented world clearly apart. The game itself takes liberties for play.
